STAINED GLASS JEWEL
MAPLEWOOD, NEW JERSEY
Built in 1927, this stately Maplewood home underwent a thoughtful renovation designed to honor its architectural heritage while embracing a vibrant new chapter for a growing family. Original stained-glass windows, inlaid wood floors, arches, and moldings were carefully restored, becoming the foundation for a fresh and joyful interpretation of classic Colonial design.
Color became the guiding force throughout the home. Inspired by the rich palette found within the home's original stained glass, each room was designed with its own personality while remaining connected through a thoughtful thread of color, pattern, and craftsmanship. Deep indigos, emerald greens, warm pinks, and bright accents create a sense of energy and optimism without sacrificing the elegance of the home's historic character. A dedicated music room featuring a striking red piano serves as the heart of the home, while richly layered living and dining spaces invite conversation, celebration, and connection.

“The renovation focused on maximizing its strengths, fully restoring details such as the inlaid wood floors, the ceiling moldings, and the stained-glass windows, while also giving it a more functional and contemporary feel.”
