Artisan Blues - Dining Room
 
Our client, an artist with a sophisticated sensibility for color, had just reupholstered her grandmother’s antique dining chairs in a contemporary fabric which became the inspiration throughout this gorgeous dining room. To celebrate the historic home’s original woodwork we selected Benjamin Moore’s soothing Boothbay Grey as a complement to the intricate medallion wallpaper, which seems to come alive with an artistic watercolor effect (leaving one to wonder if it was actually hand-painted!).  
 
The formal, traditional dining table takes center stage on a gorgeously rich ikat rug, and the oxidized copper doors from the adjacent modernist sideboard add a complex, textural layer to the room.  
 
Whimsical Mary Maguire artworks in dual rounded frames complete the look.
